The following tables list utility programs that can be downloaded from the PEST web pages. These programs assist in development of a PEST input dataset that features a multi-component objective function, with each component comprising a different observation group. Different components can be comprised of measurements of different types, or of measurements and corresponding model outputs processed in different ways. Software assistance in balancing of weights between different observation groups is also provided. |
|
Entries in the following table are restricted to utility programs that perform operations on groups of observations, or process model outputs and/or field measurements for inclusion in new observation groups. The plethora of utilities that read MODFLOW output files and calculate model-generated counterparts to field observations from the contents of these files are discussed in other pages.

The programs in the following table were written with formulation of a multi-component objective function in mind. Ideally, each objective function component is information-rich in a certain aspect of system behaviour. Both of these programs act as model postprocessors. They also act as PEST input dataset constructors. They can read model output files, as well as files that contain field measurements. After undertaking time-interpolation of model outputs to field measurement times, they can process both measurements and model-calculated measurement counterparts in identical ways before comparing them. Both of these programs can write instruction files to read their own output files.
